5 Ways to Have a Faith-Filled Morning


Mornings.  You either love them or you hate them.  For some, it's easy to hear that alarm and jump right out of bed.  For others, not so much.  Mornings can truly be a special time for you and God to set the mood for your day, feel encouraged to accomplish everything you need to do, and to have some prayer time.  Too often, we have the best intentions to read the Word, pray, or have some quiet time with God, but with lives filled with work, family, friends and obligations, the days seem to slip away from us.  I have created a list below of ways you can ensure that you have a great day and one that started with God!




1. Wake Up Earlier

I don't know about you, but I normally have 3 alarms set for the morning.  Waking up in the morning is not one of my favorite things to do, but I have found that if I get up even 15 minutes earlier, I have a more relaxed morning and easier day.  Waking up earlier provides the opportunity to do more than throw on some clothes, brush your teeth and walk out the door.  In your extra time, you can make some coffee, listen to a podcast, eat a good breakfast, read the Word, and spend some quiet time with God.



2. Leave Your Bible Next to Your Bedside

By doing this you don't even have to get out of bed to read the Word!  You can simply roll over hit the snooze button for 10 more minutes and start reading.   Life can be crazy busy some days, between work, errands, and whatever else you have going on, and by the end of the day you haven't had a moment to your self to even breathe, let alone talk to God.  I have found keeping my bible within arms reach of my pillow is one of the best ways to ensure that I have read the Word each day.



3. Read the Word Outside

If reading in bed is not your thing, roll on out, grab your coffee and had out onto your porch.  Reading the Word outside always makes me feel refreshed and in God's presence.  Don't have a porch?  No problem!  Find a bench, or at the very least sit by an open window!  There is something about nature and the bible that lifts my spirits.  Between the fresh air, birds chirping and early morning sun, how can you help but feel happy and blessed to be alive?



4. Keep a Prayer Journal

Writing in a prayer journal has strengthened my relationship with God tenfold.  Each morning, simply spend 5 minutes jotting down  prayers for the day.  These can be work related, for yourself, or for others.  Find a beautiful journal to turn into a prayer journal that you can use every morning.  Or you can receive your free download of Pray Without Ceasing, A Daily Prayer and Petition Journal by subscribing today!



Create a list of maybe 4-5 things that you want to pray for.  This helps when you close your eyes and talk to God.  Then at the end of the day, you can be reflective about God's work in your life.  You can see what prayers he has answered or things God wants you to rethink or refocus on.



5. Listen to a Christian Podcast

Podcasts are a great way to connect with other Christians' thoughts and ideas.  There are some absolutely amazing Christians out there who are sharing their stories on life, love and God via podcasts.  The best part?  They are free!  I use Castbox, a free app and online streaming site, and have several podcasts I listen to each week.  Not sure what podcasts to listen to?  Check out my post **COMING SOON!!!*** 5 Podcasts You Need in Your Life as a Christian Gal.
